The apps and websites on this list are completely free to use, so we recommend them as your first port of call if you want to start a side hustle getting paid for playing games.

1. Scrambly

Scrambly is a platform you can use to download and play a wide variety of games (120+ of them, according to Scrambly’s Google Play Store overview), including puzzle games, casino games, strategy games, and more.

Although games are the main emphasis on Scrambly, you can also use the app to earn with offers, promo codes, friend referrals, and, according to some reports, surveys (although we couldn’t find these on the app when we checked).

Scrambly is available as an app for Android devices only. Although it’s unavailable for iOS devices, you can use at least some of its features on the desktop version.

How to get paid via Cash App

Like many other apps and websites we’ll see on this list, Scrambly allows you to redeem your rewards via virtual prepaid cards. With most prepaid cards, you can simply add the card to your Cash App to use for purchases, bill payments, or sending money to friends. This will usually be the easiest way to get your earnings from online games into your Cash App account.

Alternatively, Scrambly has an option to redeem via bank transfers. If you redeem with this method, you can then link your bank account to Cash App—if you haven’t already done so—and move your earnings from your bank account to your Cash App balance.

Finally, another alternative is to redeem via PayPal and move your money to Cash App via your bank account.

As this last strategy involves two steps, it will usually be the least efficient way to get Cash App payments from Scrambly. However, some of the other games on this list won’t offer virtual prepaid card or bank transfer redemption options, in which case you might have to use PayPal to get Cash App credit.

2. Mistplay

Mistplay is an Android mobile app featuring a variety of games, including puzzles like Words with Friends and old favorites like Solitaire and Merge Dragons. You have to download games via the Mistplay app to accumulate Mistplay points (or “Units”) while you play.

Usually, the easiest way to get your Mistplay earnings into your Cash App account is to redeem them in the form of a virtual prepaid card. As with Scrambly, you can then add your prepaid card to your Cash App.

Alternatively, you can redeem via PayPal and use the same two-step strategy we described for Scrambly to get Cash App credit via PayPal.

3. Cash Giraffe

Cash Giraffe is another Android app that will reward you for playing games, including arcade games, adventure games, casual games, strategic games, and more.

It may also offer more ways to earn, such as surveys and other apps to download.

Cash Giraffe offers PayPal redemption. If you redeem your Cash Giraffe rewards via PayPal, you can then use the two-step strategy we’ve already described to get money from your Cash Giraffe balance to your Cash App via your bank account.

4. Cashyy

Cashyy is one more Android-only app produced by the same company that operates Cash Giraffe. Like Cash Giraffe, Cashyy mainly focuses on games, offering a wide variety of games you can play to get paid.

It may also have other paid tasks such as completing surveys and watching ads.

How to get paid via Cash App

Cashyy offers PayPal redemption. Once again, if you redeem your Cashyy rewards via PayPal, you can use the same strategy we’ve already described to get money from your PayPal to your Cash App via your bank account.

5. Freecash

Freecash is the last Android-only app on our list. Like most of the other platforms we’ve seen so far, it offers opportunities to test games for money as well as other types of app testing and paid surveys.

Freecash promises gaming enthusiasts “the best casual games, MMORPGs, sports games, and just about every other genre available.”

How to get paid via Cash App

Freecash doesn’t offer Cash App credit, but it does have other payment options that make it very easy to transfer your earnings to Cash App, including bank transfers and prepaid debit cards (meaning you can connect your prepaid card or bank account, respectively, to your Cash App account and then spend or send your earnings via Cash App).

Freecash also allows you to redeem rewards via your PayPal account (which you can transfer to your Cash App via your bank account) and with other methods, including redemption via gift cards from a variety of retailers.

Finally, one unusual redemption option on Freecash is payment via crypto. Crypto may be a convenient way to get Cash App rewards, since Cash App provides a crypto wallet (as well as a normal digital wallet for cash transactions).

6. Gamesville

Gamesville is a website (with no app version available) that will pay you to play many different types of games, including multiplayer online games and online versions of classic games.

It’s a very well-established site, as it has been around since 1996, so it must be doing something right.

We couldn’t find information about how Gamesville pays out rewards. This may depend on the games you play, but you can usually expect PayPal and gift card redemption options.

7. Gamehag

Gamehag is a platform that offers a wide variety of games you can pay to get paid, including MMO games, RPGs, strategy games, war games, arcade games, puzzles, minigames, and more. Gamehag also says it will pay you for some other tasks, such as writing news, articles, and even messages on their forums.

You can use Gamehag on your PC or download the Android app to use on your mobile device.

How to get paid via Cash App

Gamehag has hundreds of redemption methods. These include prepaid debit cards (which you can link directly to your Cash App) and PayPal (which you can use to credit your Cash App wallet via the two-step process we’ve described).

Like Freecash, Gamehag also has the unusual feature of redemption via crypto, with crypto vouchers among their redemption options. However, if you want to credit a crypto rewards voucher to your Cash App, you may have to redeem your crypto via a third-party wallet and then transfer it to your Cash App.

8. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is often described as a “microtasking platform.” Microtasking platforms usually offer a wider variety of tasks you can complete to earn points. (Swagbucks points are called “SB.”)

Swagbucks is also widely known as a cash-back app, passive income app, and receipt-scanning app, as it rewards users for making qualifying purchases and uploading valid receipts.

Games are one of the tasks that Swagbucks offers. It features many different types of games, including casual games, strategy games, virtual card games, casino games, board-game-inspired games, and much more besides.

Unlike the other apps we’ve seen so far, Swagbucks has a desktop version or mobile app versions for both Android and iOS devices.

How to get paid via Cash App

You can redeem your Swagbucks points via virtual prepaid cards (with a Mastercard virtual card available when we checked) and then link your prepaid card to Cash App as we’ve described to use it with Cash App.

Alternatively, you can use the clunkier process of redeeming your Swagbucks rewards via PayPal and then transferring the money from your PayPal account to your Cash App account.

9. InboxDollars

InboxDollars is one of the most well-known microtasking and survey platforms that’s very similar to Swagbucks and offers the same types of tasks. You can find surveys that pay instantly (or at least fairly quickly) and a variety of games. If you use both InboxDollars and Swagbucks, you’ll probably see many of the same games and offers on them.

Like Swagbucks, InboxDollars offers prepaid card and PayPal redemption options. You can use either of these methods to get Cash App credit, with prepaid cards usually being the easier way to go.

10. MyPoints

MyPoints is yet another microtasking platform similar to Swagbucks and InboxDollars, with similar types of tasks and featuring many of the same games. Along with a desktop version of the site, MyPoints also has Android and iOS apps for mobile devices.

KashKick only offers PayPal redemption, so it’s less convenient than other platforms we’ve seen for transferring rewards to your Cash App. However, you can still use the process we’ve described to transfer KashKick earnings to your Cash App if you want.

Gambling and tournament-based games you can use to get Cash App payments

This list features apps that are mainly geared toward gambling. Although you can, in theory, use them for free without spending anything, they employ a lot of sneaky tricks to make you part with your cash. This means you can easily end up losing money instead of earning it.

As such, we don’t recommend these apps as a way to earn unless you’re confident you can resist the urge to spend money on them.

12. Blackout Bingo

Blackout Bingo is a virtual bingo game, although this app throws in some extra features to spice things up. (e.g., It gives you “Boosts,” which help you to score additional points and, potentially, win games.)

Blackout Bingo is run by the platform Skillz, which hosts a selection of apps based on card games, board games, arcade games, and more. This app is available for iOS devices and Samsung Galaxy Android mobile devices (but not other Android devices).

We’ve already mentioned that Blackout Bingo and other gambling and tournament-based apps will encourage you to spend money to play cash games. Aside from the fact that this constitutes gambling, the other downside of these apps is that they’re not available in all US states (since some states don’t allow gambling).

If Blackout Bingo sends you cash via PayPal, you can use the two-step method we’ve already described to transfer your money to Cash App (via your bank account). If they credit your Apple Pay account, you’ll need to use a similar process to move money from your Apple Pay wallet to your Cash App wallet—first moving the money to your bank account and then to your Cash App.

If you get paid via your credit or debit card, you can simply link your credit or debit card to your Cash App and go from there.
