Although taking online surveys is one of the best side hustle ideas for making money from your phone quickly, it’s hard to find platforms that really do pay on the spot. Nonetheless, you can potentially get your rewards pretty fast.

In our experience using survey platforms, we usually needed to spend several hours on them before we could reach the redemption threshold (the smallest possible amount you need to earn before you can redeem rewards) and then wait till the next day—or possibly longer—to receive our payment.

However, we’ve found some platforms that allowed us to reach the minimum threshold for redemption and also receive our payment within a few hours.

What is the best survey website or app for getting paid instantly?

There is no one best survey site for getting paid instantly. How long it will take you to get paid (and how much you’ll earn) will depend on many factors—notably the minimum redemption threshold and the hourly rate you can garner.

However, based mostly on our own experience, we can provide a few recommendations of our own:

These aren’t necessarily the most lucrative survey platforms we’ve seen, and they don’t necessarily have the best hourly rates. However, in our opinion, they have fairly achievable standards in terms of how much work you need to invest to reach the minimum redemption threshold, and they usually pay out fast.

Survey apps and websites will usually offer you a few different ways to redeem your rewards. Options commonly include:

• PayPal
• Gift cards
• Virtual prepaid Mastercard or Visa cards

More unusual redemption options include:

• Crypto
• Venmo or other digital wallets

How much can you earn from survey apps and websites?

As a way to earn, survey apps and websites have several advantages, including:

• Speed: Surveys often pay out fast.
• Flexibility: You can do online surveys almost anywhere and at any time.
• Accessibility: Almost anyone can use online surveys to earn money.

However, they’re not the most lucrative side hustle, and you’ll probably make a very low hourly rate doing them—perhaps just a couple of dollars per hour or possibly even less. However, they can still be a good option for combining with other side hustles to boost your earnings. For example, you can easily take surveys while you pet sit or babysit.

Here are some of the best survey apps and websites for fast payouts. As an added bonus, many of them are apps that pay you to sign up.

1. Branded Surveys

Branded Surveys is a platform (with app versions for iOS and Android devices as well as a website) that allows you to get paid for surveys and polls.

It’s one of the more popular apps on this list, with many users saying it’s a solid option if you’re looking for a survey-focused platform. We especially like its quick payouts (instant for avid, “high-tier” users, and just a few days for occasional, lower-tier users).

This platform pays via PayPal, gift cards, or bank transfers. Bank transfers are a less common redemption option with survey apps and sites, so Branded Surveys is a good one to use if you specifically want to get paid straight into your bank account.

The $5 minimum redemption threshold on Branded Surveys is not the lowest we’ve seen, but it’s lower than the minimum for some other platforms on this list (which sometimes require you to accumulate up to $15 of rewards before you can redeem).

Because of this relatively low minimum, and also the $1 signup bonus we got to kickstart our earnings, when we used Branded Surveys, we were able to reach the redemption point pretty fast—within about 3 hours.

Can you get paid instantly on Branded Surveys?

Yes, you can get paid instantly on Branded Surveys—or as soon as you reach the redemption threshold. However, you’ll have to jump through some hoops to qualify for instant payment privileges.

This is because Branded Surveys has Gold, Silver, and Bronze membership tiers according to how many surveys you take per month. Your tier determines how fast you get paid, with users in the higher tiers able to get paid instantly.

If you’re in the bottom tier (which you probably will be if you’ve just started using the site), payments will probably take longer. However, Branded Surveys provides inconsistent information about exactly how long payments take for bottom-tier users, citing various timelines from 1 to 6 days.

In our case, we got paid after just one business day when we redeemed through PayPal on Branded Surveys, so we had a pretty quick payout despite our lowly Bronze status.

2. Prime Opinion

Prime Opinion is a fairly simple survey site that doesn’t feature other tasks like games or offers (although you can also earn by referring friends to the site). It has a desktop version and an app available for iOS and Android devices.

There’s quite a bit of recent chatter about this app in online side hustle communities, with many people saying it’s a decent way to kill time and earn some extra money. For this reason, along with its fairly low minimum redemption threshold (meaning you can cash out quickly), we picked it as one of our top recommendations this month.

Prime Opinion may be a good option for speedy payouts, as we reached the redemption threshold of $5 in less than 3 hours.

Like many other platforms on this list, it gave us an instant signup bonus (of $1) that helped us reach this goal quickly. However, you can get a larger signup bonus if you’re willing to accept a higher redemption threshold, since Prime Opinion offers different bonuses corresponding with different minimum redemption amounts.

Prime opinion also shines in terms of the varied redemption options, which include Venmo and ACH transfers as well as the usual PayPal, prepaid cards, and gift card options.

Can you get paid instantly on Prime Opinion?

It may be possible to get paid instantly or almost instantly on Prime Opinion. The best way to get a quick payout is to choose the lowest possible redemption threshold from among the options that Prime Opinion gives you (although this will also mean settling for a smaller signup bonus).

However, Prime Opinion gives mixed messages about how long withdrawals will take. Their website says that, when you withdraw cash to your PayPal or bank account, withdrawals are processed immediately and credited to your account within a few hours.

However, we also received a message saying that bank transfer funds could take 2–4 days to reach users.

Regardless, payouts are likely to be pretty fast.

3. Freecash

Freecash is a good option if you’re interested in games as well as surveys, since it features a wide selection of games that pay real money in addition to “numerous surveys of various difficulties.” It’s available as an app for Android devices, and you can also use the website on your desktop.

We noticed many positive reviews of Freecash while researching it; users appear to enjoy using the app, saying it offers more earning options and quicker payouts than many survey-focused apps.

To redeem on Freecash, you have to accumulate just $2 worth of rewards; this is a relatively low redemption threshold compared with some other platforms’. To redeem, you can then choose from a selection of payment methods, which include some unconventional ones like crypto and bank transfers.

You can also redeem earnings from games and other tasks via gift cards, PayPal cash, or prepaid debit cards.

Can you get paid instantly on Freecash?

Freecash promises to send rewards instantly, although it says that there are occasional instances where processing can take up to 30 minutes.

4. Survey Junkie

Survey Junkie is another platform (including both mobile app and web versions) that you can use to get paid with surveys. You can also earn extra rewards by installing the Survey Junkie browser extension and desktop app.

If you use Survey Junkie for a while, you may also be able to join focus groups to earn even more. However, we can’t vouch for this feature, as we didn’t use the platform for long enough to try it out.

Like Branded Surveys, Survey Junkie gives you the option to get paid via bank transfers, PayPal, and gift cards. In addition, you can also get virtual prepaid Visa cards, which is another common redemption option on these types of platforms.

Also like Branded Surveys, Survey Junkie has a reasonably low minimum redemption threshold of $5 and a signup bonus to kickstart your earnings (although, at $0.85, this is slightly lower than Branded Surveys’ signup bonus). These advantages mean you should be able to reach the redemption threshold relatively fast.

Can you get paid instantly on Survey Junkie?

Survey Junkie says that the length of time redemption takes will depend on the payment method you choose. Their site and app give conflicting information about speeds for PayPal redemptions; they sometimes promise payments within a day but other times predict a longer wait of up to 3 days.

When we used the platform, we redeemed via PayPal, and we got paid instantly, so there’s a good chance you will also receive your survey earnings immediately if you go with PayPal (although this isn’t guaranteed).

Survey Junkie also doesn’t specify how long it will take to redeem via gift cards, and we didn’t test this redemption option on their site. On other, similar sites, gift cards usually take no more than a day or two to arrive, so they’re likely to be a pretty fast option or possibly instant.

For virtual prepaid Visa card redemptions, Survey Junkie does specify that you should receive your card in your email instantly. As such, this will likely be the best redemption option for fast payouts.

On the other hand, if you want your money fast, bank transfers are best avoided. Survey Junkie says bank transfers can take up to 5 business days.

5. InboxDollars

InboxDollars is a more diverse platform than Branded Surveys and Survey Junkie. It features many other ways to earn alongside surveys (e.g., games, online searches, and offer signups).

These types of apps or websites featuring multiple ways to earn are sometimes referred to as microtasking or GPT (“get paid to”) platforms.

InboxDollars has a website version and apps for iOS and Android devices, and available redemption methods include gift cards, PayPal, and virtual prepaid debit cards, which are all standard options.

InboxDollars may be a good way to get paid fast. Although the payment threshold for the first redemption is quite high at $15, we were able to reach this threshold in just over 3 hours, partly thanks to the generous $5 signup bonus.

After your first redemption, you’ll be able to redeem in increments of $10 or more.

Can you get paid instantly on InboxDollars?

You might not be able to get paid instantly on InboxDollars, but you’ll probably be able to get paid fast—potentially within a day or two. When we redeemed our rewards (which we did as a virtual prepaid card), we got our payment within a day.

In terms of how long you can expect to wait for your InboxDollars rewards after redemption, the platform gives conflicting information. It predicts a wait of around 3 to 10 days for your rewards, but says that the exact time will depend on various factors. For example, payouts may be slower during holidays or if InboxDollars has received numerous payment requests.

6. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is another microtask website very similar to InboxDollars and made by the same company—namely, Prodege. Like InboxDollars, it features both surveys and a variety of other tasks. For example, you can find in-app games that pay instantly, or you can download separate games as another way to earn points (or “SB”).

In addition, Swagbucks is also one of the more well-known cash-back apps and receipt-scanning apps in the market, allowing you to earn money by making qualifying purchases and uploading receipts.

Swagbucks also has the same redemption options as InboxDollars (gift cards, PayPal, and virtual prepaid cards) and is available in a desktop version and app versions for Android and iOS devices.

Swagbucks may not be the fastest way to get paid with surveys. When we used the platform, it took us over 8 hours to hit the minimum redemption threshold of $15, even though we received a decent signup bonus of $2.50.

However, we did not focus exclusively on surveys when we used the platform, so you might find you can hit the threshold faster if you do this.

Another thing to bear in mind is that the redemption threshold decreases to just $1 after your first redemption, so you’ll probably be able to redeem a lot faster after your first cashout.

Can you get paid instantly on Swagbucks?

You probably won’t be able to get paid instantly on Swagbucks, but you may be able to get paid within a few days.

Swagbucks says that most users will need to wait at least a couple of days to get their payment. However, it also says that you should be prepared to wait up to 10 days to receive your reward, depending on how you redeem.

After we redeemed on Swagbucks, we had to wait a couple more days to receive our rewards (via PayPal).

7. MyPoints

MyPoints is yet another multifaceted Prodege platform that offers surveys plus a range of other tasks similar to the ones on Swagbucks and InboxDollars. It also has the same redemption options (gift cards, PayPal, or virtual prepaid cards) and mobile app versions of the platform for Android and iOS devices in addition to the desktop version.

This Prodege GPT platform, like Swagbucks and InboxDollars, has a minimum redemption threshold of $15, initially, and gives you a signup bonus—which is just $2, in this case. We spent over 4 hours testing MyPoints and were not close to the $15 redemption threshold.

However, as with Swagbucks, we used many different features on MyPoints, and you may find that you’re able to reach the $15 mark faster if you focus on surveys, which are often more lucrative than other tasks on these types of platforms.

Can you get paid instantly on MyPoints?

You probably won’t get paid instantly on MyPoints. Not only could you struggle to reach the redemption threshold quickly; they also say that payments will take 5–10 business days to come through.

8. LifePoints

LifePoints is from a different company to the one that makes InboxDollars, Swagbucks, and MyPoints. Like these platforms, it has mobile apps for Android and iOS devices as well as a desktop version. However, it’s a bit less diverse, as it only offers a couple of small tasks besides surveys for earning.

LifePoints’ redemption options include the popular PayPal and gift card options plus the more unusual option of Venmo. Although LifePoints only offers a paltry signup bonus, its $5 redemption threshold was low enough that we managed to reach this threshold pretty fast (within about 3¼ hours).

However, getting payments can take a bit longer.

Can you get paid instantly on LifePoints?

LifePoints says you may have to wait up to 10 days to receive payments via gift cards or PayPal but that the average payment takes 5 days. It’s likely that Venmo payments will take a similar amount of time.

We received our payment after about 4 days.

9. KashKick

KashKick is a platform that offers surveys along with games and offers you can sign up for. It has a desktop version and app versions for Android and iOS mobile devices.

Compared with many of the other platforms we’ve seen, KashKick is more limited in terms of redemption options, as it only offers PayPal.

It took us a long time to reach the minimum redemption threshold of $10 on this platform, despite the decent $1 signup bonus we received. As such, KashKick may not be the best way to get paid instantly via surveys.

However, as with many other platforms we’ve mentioned, we didn’t focus only on surveys when we used KashKick but also tried out other features. You may find that you’re able to reach the threshold faster if you stick to surveys.

Can you get paid instantly on KashKick?

KashKick doesn’t have instant payouts, but it can be pretty fast. It says that payments are typically processed within 1–3 days, and we were indeed able to get our rewards within a couple of days.

10. Opinion Outpost

Opinion Outpost is another simple platform focused only on taking paid surveys and testing new products. Unlike the other platforms we’ve seen so far, it doesn’t have an app version, only a desktop version.

For redeeming via gift cards, Opinion Outpost has a low $5 withdrawal threshold. Thanks to this and the $0.50 bonus we got for signing up, we found it relatively easy to reach the redemption point on Opinion Outpost, which took about 3 hours. We were then able to get our gift card the same day, making this one of the fastest payouts we got from platforms on this list.

However, in terms of the redemption options available, Opinion Outpost is a bit more limited, as it only offers gift cards or PayPal. Notably, it will usually take longer to reach the redemption point if you want to get paid via PayPal, as you’ll need at least $10 worth of rewards.

Can you get paid instantly on Opinion Outpost?

Opinion Outpost says that PayPal rewards will reach your account within 3 business days, and many gift cards will reach you within a day (which happened in our case).

11. Ipsos iSay

Ipsos iSay is another no-frills platform that focuses on surveys as a way to earn (although there are also weekly contests you can enter to win more rewards). It has apps for iOS and Android devices as well as a web version for laptops and PCs.

Ipsos iSay has the standard redemption options (including PayPal, prepaid cards, and gift cards), and thanks to the relatively low $5 threshold for redemption, we managed to reach the redemption point quite fast even though we didn’t get a signup bonus to help us on our way.

This bodes well for fast payment. However, when you redeem, there’s a chance that the subsequent payout could take a long time—possibly as long as a month.

Can you get paid instantly on Ipsos iSay?

The Ipsos iSay site features some contradictory information about how long PayPal withdrawals take. Some pages on the site say that these payments take 1–3 weeks; others say payments take 3–4 weeks.

In our case, it took us only a couple of days to get our payout, although we had to resolve some technical issues related to our PayPal (namely, that we should have signed up for Ipsos iSay with an email address that has a PayPal account associated with it).

12. PrizeRebel

PrizeRebel is a platform featuring surveys plus quite a few other ways to earn. For example, you can sign up for offers and watch ads for money.

Unlike many of the other platforms on this list, it doesn’t have an app for mobile devices—only a desktop version.

With PrizeRebel, it took us longer to reach the redemption point compared with other platforms on this list. This was not due to a high redemption threshold; many of the redemption options on the platform allow you to redeem with $5 of rewards or even less (as we saw some gift cards for less than $5).

Rather, we found that it simply took us a long time to accumulate rewards on PrizeRebel. With that said, we spent a lot of time on other tasks besides surveys, so you may be able to reach the redemption point faster if you focus just on surveys.

The redemption process for PrizeRebel is not bad. There’s a good chance you’ll get your money the same day, and you can withdraw earnings via crypto, Venmo, and bank transfers, as well as with the standard options of gift cards, PayPal, and prepaid Visa cards.

Can you get paid instantly on PrizeRebel?

PrizeRebel provides contradictory information about how long redemption takes. The timelines it cites range from less than a day up to 4 business days.

In our case, we got our payment via gift card within 24 hours.

13. Toluna Influencers

Toluna Influencers (formerly Toluna) is a platform that focuses mainly on surveys as a way to earn rewards, although it also has a poll, a few games, and some other tasks. It has mobile apps for Android and iOS devices as well as a web version for desktop devices.

Probably because its minimum threshold for redemption is on the higher side at $10, we found Toluna Influencers to be one of the platforms that took us longer to redeem on. Compared with other platforms on this list, they also made us wait a relatively long time to receive our rewards.

Can you get paid instantly on Toluna Influencers?

Toluna Influencers says you should allow up to 3 weeks to receive your rewards. In our case, we hadn’t received our reward (a gift card) after 12 days, so we contacted their customer service. We had to message them a couple of times to eventually get a gift card that worked, meaning that our redemption experience was a lot less instant than we would have liked.

14. Lootup

Lootup is a platform featuring surveys plus other tasks like offer signups and videos. It has an Android app as well as the usual desktop version for your PC.

Lootup offers the standard redemption options of gift cards, PayPal credit, and prepaid cards plus the more unusual option of crypto redemption. It has a low $1 redemption threshold, which makes it easier to reach the redemption point fast (and we were able to do this within 3¼ hours). Cashouts can also be pretty fast, depending on the redemption method you choose.

Can you get paid instantly on Lootup?

In general, how fast Lootup pays you will depend on the redemption method you use (where crypto payments will probably take longer) plus other factors. Lootup says you can expect to wait 1–5 days.

We got our Lootup rewards via PayPal within about a day.

15. InstaGC

InstaGC is another rewards website you can use to get paid with surveys plus other tasks like offer signups and videos.

This site’s redemption process is quite flexible, as you can get paid in Bitcoin or with direct deposits as well as with the standard options of PayPal, gift cards, or virtual prepaid debit cards.

The advantage of InstaGC is the low $1 minimum threshold for redemption, which makes it easy to hit the redemption point quickly (within 2–3 hours in our case). However, you won’t necessarily get paid right away.

In fact, when we tried to redeem our rewards via a couple of different methods, we failed. For example, when we tried to order a gift card, we received a message saying we couldn’t access InstaGC’s gift card system; we then found it such a struggle to get help from customer service that we eventually gave up on our rewards.

Can you get paid instantly on InstaGC?

In general, InstaGC says that payments will take 1–7 days. However, if you have the same kinds of problems we had, it could take longer.

16. ySense

ySense is another Prodege platform featuring surveys plus other tasks you can complete to earn. Other ways to earn include completing offers, taking polls, playing games, and more.

For getting paid fast, ySense is potentially less favorable compared with other platforms on this list. It took us a relatively long time to reach the redemption point, which was probably due to both the high $15 redemption threshold and the low rate at which we accumulated earrings (as well as the small 5 cents signup bonus).

You may find that you’re able to reach the redemption threshold faster by focusing on just surveys instead of trying out different types of tasks like we did. Also, after your first redemption, the threshold goes down from $15 to $3, allowing for faster redemptions.

ySense allows you to redeem via gift cards or electronic cashouts, including the usual PayPal option plus the more unusual options of Skrill and Payoneer.

Can you get paid instantly on ySense?

ySense isn’t very clear on how long they usually take to pay out after redemption. However, they say that payments can take up to 15 days in some cases.

When you’re choosing survey websites or apps in the hope of getting paid fast, there are a number of factors to take into account.

For any platform you’re considering, try to find out about the following features on the platform:

• How much surveys pay: With many platforms, when you view their survey selections, you can see estimates of the time surveys will take and the rewards they’ll give you.
• How easy it is to qualify for surveys: Until you start using a platform, it’s hard to gauge how often surveys will disqualify you, as this will depend on your demographic profile as well as other factors. However, if you find that a lot of surveys are kicking you out on a particular platform, it might be worth switching to a different platform.
• What happens when surveys disqualify you: Some surveys will waste a lot of your time before disqualifying you. Some will be less likely to do this, and some will even give you a small reward (usually around 0.5–2 cents) for attempting a survey, even if you don’t qualify.
• How high the minimum redemption threshold is: Some sites require you to earn as much as $15 of rewards before you can withdraw; others will allow you to withdraw anytime. This threshold will affect how long you’ll have to invest before you can redeem your rewards.
• Whether you’ll get a signup bonus: Many sites offer a signup bonus, which can be anything from a few cents up to $5 (which is the largest we’ve seen). A bigger signup bonus can help you to reach the minimum redemption threshold faster.
• How long the platform takes to process redemptions: Some survey platforms will promise to pay out on the same day or even instantly; others will ask you to wait several days or even weeks before your payment arrives. For a better chance of fast payment, focus on the former.
