Yard Crew

Job Description:

We are seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Nursery and Landscape Yard Loader to join our team. This role is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to load, transport, and organize landscaping materials such as mulch, soil, gravel, stone, tools, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating loaders, forklifts, and other yard equipment while ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate loaders and other yard equipment to load materials onto customer and company vehicles.
• Assist customers with selecting and loading landscape materials efficiently and safely.
• Load landscape crew production trucks with materials and tools necessary for the next day’s activities.
• Maintain and organize the yard, ensuring materials are properly stocked and accessible.
• Inspect and perform basic maintenance on equipment, reporting any mechanical issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a secure work environment.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking new materials.
• Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and management.
• Keep the work area clean and free of hazards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience operating front-end loaders, forklifts, or other heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required.
