Description
The Fine Arts Association seeks a qualified, passionate and creative artist to join our talented Visual Arts Faculty team.
Description:
Part-Time art teaching position, ideal for those who are looking for a chance to share their artistic skills without an extensive weekly time commitment. Hours will not exceed 5-10 hours per week initially, though there is much room for growth. Teaching will usually occur in the evening after 3:45 PM but additional daytime hours are also a possibility if desired.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate visual art experiences that meet the demands and interests of FAA customers.
- Acknowledge students as individuals and communicate with them and/or their caregivers effectively on their unique learning paths and goals in the visual arts.
Potential Additional Teaching Opportunities:
As Needed:
- Offsite instruction at neighboring community locations (assisted living facilities, libraries, or schools)
- Private lessons
- Camps
- Field Trips
- There is an opportunity to expand the number of hours by teaching other subjects in the Visual Art Dept.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently one faculty member teaches both of these offerings. The role can be separated if candidate can teach one but not both. Those with either media focus are also encouraged to apply.
- While these are our current offerings, different complementary teaching skills are also welcomed.
- Hold or be working toward a degree in a Visual Art Field and/or Visual Art Education
-OR-
- Have a considerable amount of experience in the Visual Art Field and/or Visual Art Education
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Portfolio or Examples of artwork they have created
Preferred Qualifications:
An ideal candidate would have teaching experience with students of diverse backgrounds and ability levels.
