Job Description:
Job Purpose: Oversee race operations, direct track and technical officials. Communicate race needs and make race related decisions. Management of Security at Lucas Oil Speedway.
Duties:
· To set good example for the staff with regard to punctuality, attendance, attitude and hygiene.
· Develop and carry out rules package for each class.
· Schedules and directs event security staff.
· Train all technical and scoring staff for race night expectations.
· Provides frequent safety training for employees
· Directs on track safety crews and keeps all safety officials up to speed on schedule and needs.
· Builds strong rapport with drivers and crews. Maintains a strong presence in the pit area before and after race.
· Conducts driver meeting prior to each event. Clearly defines expectations and rules for drivers and crews especially in regards to safety.
· Works with visiting series and groups on special events to provide a pleasant and smooth race night.
· Communicates with staff and tower in regards to timing and intermission length.
· Ensures the race surface is well prepared and safe for drivers and spectators.
· Maintains constant communication with all tech and track officials to run a quick and efficient show.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading trade publications.
