Job Description:
Highly responsible customer service focused shuttle operator that acts as point of contact both on and off the trolley for visitors to Three Sisters Springs, a unit of the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. Driver is responsible for following a designated route and stopping at all designated stops along the route. Position will be responsible for safely transporting passengers and providing them with consistent information about the City of Crystal River, United States Fish and Wildlife Service and Three Sisters Springs.
Comply with all State and local traffic laws and City policies and procedures relative to the safe operation of a passenger vehicle/bus.
Educate passengers with a spoken narrated tour about the history of Crystal River and the Three Sisters Springs property.
Perform and record a pre-trip inspection in accordance with the Florida Department of Transportation checklist.
Assume responsibility for the safety of the passengers, including loading and unloading and operation of the automatic wheelchair lift.
Instruct passengers on safety precautions and practices.
Always keep the interior and exterior of bus/van clean.
Responsible for fueling of vehicles; complying with City fueling policy.
Complete incident reports if necessary and maintain wheelchair lift log accurately and submit in a timely manner.
Notify Director of Visitor Services of any defects, repairs needed, or other problems, which would impact safe operation of the bus/van.
Complete any required in-service and training programs.
Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position as assigned by City Management.
Drivers are not permitted to accept tips. Accepting tips may be grounds for reprimand.
Performs other duties as required.
