The Temporary Youth Worker program is to help students gain experience in the workplace. The Youth Worker will assist with support to the staff of the Information Technology Department in a temporary capacity. THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION WITH DURATION UP TO 90 DAYS. THERE ARE NO BENEFITS INCLUDED WITH THIS POSITION.
Responsibilities:
- Provides support to department staff while gaining exposure to the operations and functions of the Information Technology Department.
- Contributes to the gathering, compilation, and documentation of essential departmental data and performs various tasks in support of the Department’s goals and objectives.
- Examines, verifies and inputs data into computer systems.
- Assist in the areas of application development, website management, GIS support, database and system administration, cybersecurity, infrastructure, mobile device management, desktop support and project management.
- Researches and analyzes historical data.
- Responds to incoming telephone calls and electronic inquiries, routing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Prepares and scans documents with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Supports and assists department staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Minimum of sixteen years of age.
- Experience with word-processing, spreadsheets, database management, and internet programs/applications is required.
- Applicants must be detail-oriented and able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other County employees, elected officials and co-workers.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
SALARY: $15.00 per hour, Up to 40 hours per week
DURATION: Temporary, Up to 90 days
