1. Tax Preparer
Join our centralized tax processing team to prepare individual tax returns (Form 1040 and related schedules) in a paperless environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Enter client data and financial information into tax preparation software

Prepare tax returns accurately, following firm policies and procedures
-
Maintain client confidentiality in line with company protocols
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
-
Experience in individual tax return preparation preferred
-
Familiarity with basic accounting concepts preferred
-
Ability to obtain a PTIN
-
Availability: Minimum 30 hours/week (Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm your local time). Work hours must be spread across at least four days, with a minimum of four consecutive hours per day.

2. Full-Service Tax Preparer and Customer Support
For experienced tax professionals who enjoy working directly with customers, this role offers the opportunity to provide tax support, advice, and troubleshooting while preparing returns of varying complexity.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time tax advice and troubleshooting via video and chat support
-
Guide clients in gathering and organizing data for federal and state returns
-
Analyze tax matters and offer accurate advice based on company policies and resources
-
Review and follow up on customer callbacks and tax accuracy issues
Qualifications:
-
Minimum of two (2) seasons of tax preparation experience, with a minimum of 30 returns per year
-
PTIN required (can be obtained online)
-
Prior tax preparation experience in a tax practice or retail setting
-
Knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts, and Form 1040
-
Comfortable using audio/visual tools to communicate with clients
-
Strong problem-solving, research, and technical troubleshooting skills
3. Document Processing Assistant – Digital Scanning, Data Validation, or K1-A Validation
Join our BT Prep team as a Document Processing Assistant, specializing in either Data Validation, Digital Scanning, or K1-A Validation where attention to detail and technical skills are key.
Key Responsibilities:

Digital Scanning focus: Prepare files for validation software, ensure proper organization with separator sheets, and maintain confidentiality

Data Validation focus: Validate data and scanned documents for accuracy, input missing information, and maintain confidentiality
-
K1-A Validation focus: Review and validate all parts of the K-1 for accuracy, input missing information, and maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED preferred

Availability: Minimum 30 hours/week (Monday-Friday, 7 am-5 pm CST). Work hours must be spread across at least four days, with a minimum of four hours per day.
