Job Description:

About Heath
Heath Ceramics is a California company making dinnerware and architectural tiles of good and enduring design for over 75 years. We are design-led, with the mission of creating products of beauty and integrity, while designing, manufacturing, and running our business in a way that's better for society and our planet. Our products are designed, manufactured, and sold in our two California factories and four showrooms, ensuring accountability in our process, from beginning to end. As a Certified B Corp, we maintain high standards of social responsibility, environmental performance, and transparency. We believe in the benefits of local manufacturing and support a community of people committed to and inspired by the process of designing, making, and sharing.

Position Summary
We’re seeking a Temporary Events & Special Projects Lead to support in the planning and execution of in-store and community events ranging from curated art shows to multi-vendor markets (think West Coast Craft, but more intimate in scale). This role is both strategic and tactical: you’ll contribute to event concepting and design, manage vendor relationships, and oversee on-the-ground execution in collaboration with our facility staff and creative team.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and resourceful, comfortable toggling between spreadsheets, communicating with external partners, and managing day-of on-the-ground logistics.

Position Responsibilities

Event Strategy & Design

  • Collaborate with the creative, marketing, and showroom teams to brainstorm and develop event concepts that align with our brand and audience, including a series of pop ups in the San Francisco space.
  • Partner with the creative team to brief and define the scope of design assets: banners, signage, and other event collateral.

Event Planning

  • Build and maintain end-to-end event production timelines, budgets, and run-of-show documents.
  • Oversee the management of event timelines to ensure cross-functional work is implemented successfully and timely.

Day-of-Event Logistics

  • Coordinate with facility staff and vendors on load-in, setup, breakdown, and day-of event needs.
  • Anticipate and resolve onsite issues, ensuring smooth guest and vendor experiences.
  • Provide flexible support throughout the event in hands-on capacity.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with artists, vendors, and other external partners, including contracts, communications, and logistics coordination.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work with the creative team to ensure all assets (signage, banners, digital promos) are delivered on time.
  • Support showroom staff in preparing spaces and managing foot traffic during events.
  • Coordinate with Facility teams to ensure pre- and post-event set up runs smoothly

Post-Event Wrap-up & Metrics

  • Capture attendee, vendor, and Heath employee feedback post-event. Capture learnings and support project wrap-up work including the development of event reports that capture promotional activities, impact and reception of the event, and business outcomes.
  • Ensure continuity for customer experience post-event, through touchpoints, follow ups, or other tailored actions

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in event coordination, event planning, customer service, or related roles. Prior project management experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience communicating across varying seniority levels in-house and with external partners
  • Experience in events, communications, marketing or media a must. Strong attention to detail and follow ups
  • Interest in the arts, craft, design, and community building is a plus
  • Proficiency with Google Suite a must, knowledge of Asana preferred

Work Environment/ Hours / Compensation
This is a temporary, full-time role (30 hours per week) for a period of 6 months. The position is hybrid, with a minimum of 1 day in office (Tuesdays is one of our anchor in-office days). We have a beautiful office space and warmly encourage you to work from it beyond one day a week, if you’d like! The hourly pay range is $36-$38, depending on experience. This role may require occasional travel to Sausalito and Los Angeles.

Only candidates based in the Bay Area will be considered.

Benefits
Heath provides sick time accruals in line with California Sick Leave requirements. We offer a great discount on all Heath Ceramics products.

Proud Equal Opportunity Employer
At Heath, we don’t just accept differences — we celebrate it, we support it. Heath is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. Our goal is to be a diverse workforce at all job levels. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, transgender status, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

How to Apply
If you would like to be considered for this position apply through this application. Please include a portfolio or cover letter that summarizes your work experience as it relates to this position and what interests you about Heath Ceramics.

Thank you for your interest!
