Gunfire Games is currently looking for a Temporary Associate or Mid-Level Environment Artist to join our growing team and contribute to building compelling environments for our upcoming projects. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong foundation who’s eager to grow, learn from senior artists, and collaborate with art and design teams to help bring game environments from blockout to final polish.
What you’ll do:
- Build visually immersive environments that support gameplay, narrative, and level design.
- Use provided art direction and references to stay consistent with the project’s style and tone.
- Receive and implement feedback effectively and iterate on work to meet project goals.
- Communicate progress clearly with leads and teammates, helping to maintain alignment across departments.
- Stay organized and deliver high-quality work on schedule, while learning to estimate and scope tasks realistically.
Who you are:
- You have 1–2 years of professional experience in game development or a strong demo reel/portfolio that shows production-ready work.
- You’re proficient with Unreal Engine, as well as tools like Photoshop, ZBrush, Substance, and a 3D modeling package (e.g., 3ds Max, Maya, or Blender).
- You understand the basics of composition, lighting, shape language, and material definition.
- You have a portfolio that showcases your ability to create game-ready environments, with a strong sense of atmosphere, mood, and storytelling.
- You are collaborative, take direction well, and are eager to learn and grow as part of a passionate team.
- You’re self-motivated, highly communicative, and capable of staying organized and focused in a hybrid or remote environment.

Pay range: $60,000 - $80,000. Title level and base pay offered will be based on candidate’s skills, experience, and other professional considerations.?
