Position Overview
Atlanta WSB TV is looking for a Studio Technician that wants a foot in the door to television news production. This person will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Producer and/or the Director for all show production needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Stage and manage the daily newscasts
- Check all floor equipment and set pieces for proper operation and visual aesthetics
- Responsible for studio lighting, general maintenance, and wireless microphone batteries
- Run scripts and news updates to and from the newsroom and studio
- Operate teleprompter and Vinten robotic cameras
- Assist with public service and commercial production
- Assist in other News department projects as needed
- Manage the studio floor for live and recorded programming
- Contribute to digital and radio platforms as needed
- Schedule may include nights, weekends, and or holidays
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year of broadcast, film or editing experience
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Detail oriented
- Familiarity with computers and basic digital programs
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, moving bulky set pieces, climbing ladders as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum two years of college preferred
- Live television experience preferred
