Summary
Enliven is seeking an FP&A Manager to join its Finance Team. The FP&A Manager will drive the Company’s financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, financial modeling and variance analysis, among other duties. This individual will report to the Controller and work 100% remote.
Responsibilities
- Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, which will involve collaborating with department personnel to gather and review individual department projections and consolidating the projections into the budget/forecast model
- Maintain the Company’s long-range plan, which includes developing high-level product sales forecasts and estimating cost of goods sold and selling, general and administrative costs.
- Create Net Present Value (NPV) financial models to inform strategic decisions related to current development programs, potential development programs, in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities, and acquisitions
- Function as the finance representative in recurring program planning meetings to ensure alignment between finance and development teams in ongoing strategic decisions
- Help the Company think strategically about clinical development prioritization and business development opportunities by developing analytical scenarios to support key decisions
- Prepare monthly variance analyses, including budget vs actual, forecast vs actual and trend analysis
- Monitor department and program spending and escalate any unfavorable/unusual trends
- Review/approve expenditure requests (i.e., contracts, POs and invoices) for budget compliance and accuracy of account coding and track expenditures against approved budget
- Prepare auditor-requested schedules, including flux analyses, going concern analysis, investment analyses, equity schedules, etc.
- Generate and distribute monthly department/program variance reports to department heads
- Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policies and procedures and perform quarterly user access reviews for all financial systems.
- Collaborate with Finance/Accounting Team to perform additional duties, depending on candidate skill set.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business or equivalent work experience
- MBA is a plus
- 5+ years of financial analysis experience required
- Life sciences experience required
- Excellent analytical and strategic-thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Leverage existing knowledge, skills and resources to find creative solutions
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines with limited supervision
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all departments, management levels within the Company, and external stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Outstanding customer service skills, including top-notch financial support to department heads, to relieve the time burden associated with budget requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.), including advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) a plus
- NetSuite experience a plus
- FP&A software experience a plus
- Prior experience with SOX compliance a plus
- West Coast or Mountain time zones preferred
The expected salary range for this position is [Mgr: $125,000 - $155,000/Sr. Mgr: $130,000 - $165,000]. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
