Requirements:
Hard Skills: performing First Article Inspections (FAIs), knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5), reading and interpreting engineering drawings and purchase orders, using mechanical inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Experience: 10 recent years in the aerospace and defense industry, 5+ years of recent experience performing source inspection at supplier locations

Position Overview
As a Source Inspector, you will travel to supplier facilities to perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections on precision-manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies. Using your expertise, you will verify compliance with engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, and industry specifications. Your inspection results will be reported directly to the customer via a web-based application. Must have at least 10 recent years in the aerospace and defense industry and 5+ years of recent experience performing source inspection at supplier locations.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Conduct in-process and source inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies
✅ Inspect parts per engineering drawings, ANSI Y14.5 GD&T, AS9102, and other relevant standards
✅ Use precision mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers
✅ Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102
✅ Report inspection findings directly to the customer via a web-based platform
What You Bring:
✔ Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standards.
✔ Strong knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) and engineering requirements
✔ Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings and purchase orders (POs)
✔ Experience with mechanical inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
✔ 1099 Contractor (Must have an LLC or be willing to obtain one)
✔ Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
