Work Experience Description:
Ideal for students who have begun gaining relevant experience and are building their skills through internships, part-time jobs, or significant projects. Typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework.
Job Summary
Assists in planning, designing, and producing content for official BYUH social media accounts across various platforms. Supports digital communications efforts and management of social media platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assists in developing, creating, and curating engaging content (text, image, and video) for various BYUH social media platforms, ensuring it aligns with the university's voice and mission.
- Manage day-to-day activities on social media platforms, including posting, monitoring, responding to comments, messages, and emails, and engaging with followers to build a strong online community.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) across social media platforms. Prepare regular reports on performance metrics and use data to inform content strategy.
- Work closely with the marketing and communications, and design teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all social media platforms. Coordinate with external talent when necessary.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices. Suggest and implement new features, tools, or strategies to enhance the brand's social media presence.
- Help support and train other BYUH departments in their social media efforts.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a content calendar to ensure timely and coordinated social media posts across all platforms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Videography: Knowledge of composition, lighting, framing, and editing for videos. Familiar with Premiere Pro, or other comparable video editing platforms.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging messages.
- Multitasking and Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple social media projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Graphic Design: Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) to create visually appealing social media content.
Work Experience
Must have previous social media or digital media work experience.
