Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing the day-
to-day operations of the Dining Program, including daily meal preparation and support services. It also
involves supervising personnel and volunteers engaged in providing client services and performing other
job-related tasks as necessary.
Part Time
Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 1:00pm
Pay Rate: $17.50/hr
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Knowledge of Congregate Procedure Manual and ability to follow all stated Title III regulations.
2. Responsible for kitchen, food, portion control, and serving supplies, which includes ordering,
receiving, and storage of supplies for lunch time meal service.
3. Organizes and implements a variety of daily programs for participants to include educational
speakers and classes, health and physical fitness, safety and security issues, music, entertainment,
and other programs which participants request.
4. Monitors staff that take food temperatures and maintain temperature control charts.
5. Checks food upon arrival for accurate delivery and complete meal preparation as menu prescribes.
6. Ensures that all kitchen work surfaces are properly cleaned and sanitized and that all food and
serving supplies are locked up at the end of each day.
7. Practices safe operating procedures and observes all safety regulations and precautions as prescribed by The Company
8. Maintains records and statistical information related to personnel, expenses, participant attendance,
donations, staff, and volunteer outreach efforts.
9. Prepares accurate and timely reports submitted to the Administrative Services as needed, to include
complete SAMS registration forms on all new clients and complete an annual reassessment on all clients
10. Responsible for proper handling of meals and community donations according to The Company policy guidelines
and making bank deposits in a timely fashion.
11. Supports outreach and public relations efforts with the goal of increasing program attendance,
including representing Company Dining Program as necessary before community groups
and other service agencies.
12. Develops effective working relationships with members of the community, community groups, and
public and private agencies involved in the delivery of human services.
13. Identifies senior needs for supportive services and provides appropriate referrals to Company-sponsored programs, as well as other public and private sector community and human services programs.
14. Attends staff meetings and training sessions as required.
15. Performs other duties and assignments related to this job as deemed necessary and appropriate.
