LOS ALTOS HILLS, CA (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) - A vibrant and loving family in Silicon Valley is seeking a seasoned, part-time nanny to join their home and provide flexible, weekend-focused support for their two young children, a nearly 6-year-old son and a nearly 2-year-old daughter. The position guarantees 20 guaranteed hours per week, with a focus on Saturdays and/or Sundays, one evening per week for date night, and occasional travel throughout the year. This role is perfect for a confident, creative, and highly experienced caregiver looking to make a meaningful impact in a warm, upbeat family environment.
The family is seeking a professional who thrives in a dynamic household, is adaptable to changing routines, and brings a strong understanding of childhood development, particularly for early elementary and toddler-aged children. Their son is curious, chatty, and highly engaged, thriving with structured routines and a caregiver who can match his enthusiasm. Their daughter is affectionate and spirited, needing gentle redirection and nurturing attention.
This role is centered around the stay-at-home mom’s schedule, so the ability to pivot, multitask, and wear many hats is essential. Candidates should be clear communicators with strong English language skills, comfortable enforcing boundaries, and aligned with the family's parenting philosophy that combines redirection and creativity over rigidity. Goofy songs, spontaneous games, and imaginative play are encouraged and celebrated in this household.
In addition to childcare, the nanny should be open to light household support, including snack prep, tidying, and assisting with simple tasks that help the day run smoothly. Travel availability for a few week-long trips per year is also requested. The family has dogs who are frequently at the home, so comfort with pets is necessary.
This role offers $40+/hour gross via payroll. A personal vehicle is required for commuting, but driving children is not a core part of the position. ASAP start date!
Qualifications
- BA/BS COLLEGE DEGREE | AA IN RELATED FIELD OF STUDY | OR A MINIMUM OF 5+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL NANNY EXPERIENCE
- UP TO DATE FIRST-AID & CPR CERTIFICATION (WILLINGNESS TO RENEW AS NEEDED)
- THE ABILITY TO MAKE A ONE-YEAR COMMITMENT UNLESS APPLYING FOR A TEMPORARY POSITION
- A PASSION FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN
- 5+ YEARS OF CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE IN ANY FIELD
- EXCELLENT WORK AND PERSONAL REFERENCES
