Description
Job Summary: Server plays an integral role in ensuring our guest have exceptional dining experiences. Must be passionate about food and service and thoroughly enjoy creating excellent experiences for our guests. Our Servers need to be experts in our food and beverage service and they need to bring our menus to life with appealing descriptions including preparation, ingredients and cooking methods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be an ambassador for Hollywood VOLUME Food and Beverage department’s core objectives and values.
- Provide excellent, friendly, courteous, and professional service to all internal and external guests, in every interaction.
- Maintain and ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of work area/assigned station and the establishment.
- Provide service to and be accountable for an assigned station and section.
- Anticipates guests’ needs when required.
- Perform all sequence of service duties in adherence to all Hollywood VOLUME Food and Beverage department standards including running food, bussing and turning tables and floor circulation.
- Respond to guests’ requests in an accurate and timely manner, creating a positive outcome that will result in a memorable experience.
- Perform accurate cash/credit handling and POS procedures in accordance with Hollywood VOLUME policies and procedures.
- Must be knowledgeable about Hollywood VOLUME food and beverage options i.e. location, cuisine, etc.
- Maintain knowledge about surroundings, i.e. nearby entertainment, theaters, etc.
- Greet guests and provide guests a complete introduction and a menu tour, when necessary.
- Take all guests’ orders in a timely manner, always writing them down.
- Maintain the quality of the food, beverages, and restaurant by performing frequent checks.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
- May be required to lift trays of food or drinks up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
Skills / Experience:
- 1 year previous high-end restaurant or hotel experience
- California Food Handlers Certified
- Responsible Beverage Training (RBS) Certified
- Excellent listener & communicator
- Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask
- Understands sequence of service and coursing
- Computer literacy to include: Micros, POS systems
