The Server - 2nd Shift at Smithfield Foods will welcome guests, ensuring prompt and courteous service while managing dining reservations and assisting with event-related work. Candidates need a High School diploma or GED, along with at least 1 year of experience in customer service within the hospitality industry, and flexible availability for various shifts.

Job Description:

Your Opportunity

Welcomes guests to create a favorable impression of restaurant. Strives to ensure service is prompt and courteous, while meeting customer’s meal expectations. Escorts patrons to tables and provides menus. Books dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners.

Core Responsibilities

  • Receives and records dining reservations via the telephone.
  • Ensures the proper setup of dining and service areas.
  • Politely request guests wait in waiting area if no table is available.
  • Ensures neatness and cleanliness of stations. Maintains clean and organized tables and work area.
  • Presents menus and makes recommendations, learns all menus and specials.
  • Assists room service staff when needed.
  • Checks guests in and out of hotel suites.
  • Helps guests with luggage.
  • Serves breakfast to overnight guests.
  • Manages event related work including setting up tables and assisting in maintaining both exterior and interior of the restaurant.
  • Resolves guests’ concerns in a prompt manner.

  • High School diploma/GED and 1+ years’ customer service experience in the hospitality industry, preferred.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Customer serviced focused, team player with a willingness to help other employees when needed.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekend and evening shifts.
  • Ability to work 6+ hour shifts with long periods of walking and standing.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
