AECOM is seeking a Senior Rail Operations Lead. This is a national position that could be located in any US AECOM office location and will report to the Global Rail Operations Planning department.
JOB SUMMARY:
The position includes responsibility for business development, stakeholder engagement, management of rail modeling projects/tasks, preliminary design and final design of rail infrastructure projects including intercity rail, regional/commuter rail, freight rail and high-speed rail throughout the United States. Clients can include Departments of Transportation, public rail agencies, railroads, Amtrak, private operators and more. The successful candidate may be asked to serve as an AECOM team and/or discipline lead, project manager and/or technical task leader on selected projects and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with others within multiple AECOM regions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee railway modeling including high level runtime and detailed rail network simulation
- Interfaces with clients including railroads, passenger rail agencies and modelers
- Translates client goals into deliverable modeling tasks
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to modelers/analysts
- Interpret and advise on modeling logic and railroad operating rules as necessary
- Verify modeling outputs results are realistic and client aligned
- Characterize modeling results into clear, digestible reports and presentations
- Coordinate and iterate with other rail planning disciplines including design teams
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
