The Senior QA Automation Engineer role is a critical component of our Product Engineering team.
This role is remote, with one required visit to your designated home office per quarter
Home Office: Jersey City, NJ
What You Will Do:
- Be a QA engineer in terms of "hands on" contributions and being a driving force of excellence amongst all AQAs; as well as our entire Player Account Management group
- Build and deliver high-quality automation for API, Mobile, and some web to support high quality deliveries in an agile environment
- Provide testing strategy and automation implementation across a domain based micro-service architecture spanning api’s, kafka, and other event-based technologies hosted on a Kubernetes containerized infrastructure
- Provide testing support for mobile devices (Android and iOS apps) and their supporting backend services
- Work closely with developers, product owners, delivery managers, and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC to understand and refine requirements, scope testing efforts for features and identify regression impacts
- Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios
- Drive integration of testing into development teams CI/CD pipelines and promote the benefits of Test-Driven Development. Be a champion for an ‘automation first’ strategy.
- Continuously drive improvements to processes and tools for automation
- Participate in design and architecture discussions
- Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using JIRA
- Develop a deep understanding of your specific product area and understand how that area fits into the broader product offerings.
What You Will Need:
- 6+ years of experience as SDET or Automation Engineer
- Experience in coding (or ability to learn very quickly) Javascript /or Typescript
- API Automation and UI Automation (mobile or web) experience with good organizational and automation practices being used, including familiarity with the page object design approach
- Strong hands-on experience testing mobile devices such as iOS and Android preferred
- API/RESTful service testing experience
- Familiar with CI/CD processes in Gitlab or similar tooling
- Ability to decompose a feature to identify the critical automation components
- Experience thinking about risk, creating test strategies, and validating the quality of testing plans & procedures.
- Experience with Jira or other PMT for issue & task management.
Must have a mix of experience in the following areas; not all:
- Functional automation tests tools such as WebdriverIO and Cypress
- API testing tools such as Postman
- Automation platforms like Browserstack or Saucelabs
- Splunk/New Relic monitoring
- Kafka exposure
- Kubernetes/Docker
- Experience in Javascript or Typescript

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 USD, which is dependent on a several factors including relevant experience, geography, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k)-matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses. This role includes paid Personal Time Off and paid company holidays.
