The Opportunity
We’re looking for a pragmatic and collaborative Legal Counsel to be the go-to expert for legal questions across our product, platform, engineering, and AI initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to shape how UserTesting innovates responsibly—providing sharp, business-savvy legal insight across our most strategic technical domains. One moment you’ll be navigating complex product regulations, and the next, advising on transformative AI capabilities or helping craft scalable legal frameworks.
You’ll partner closely with senior leaders across R&D, GTM, and strategy to guide decision-making, reduce risk, and translate innovation into real-world impact.
The Team
You’ll be part of our Legal & Compliance team—a tight-knit, high-trust group that believes good legal support should be clear, accessible, and enabling. We work closely with teams across the company and operate with empathy, speed, and curiosity. You’ll report to our Head of Legal and collaborate daily with cross-functional stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Security, Commercial, and Strategy.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who brings:

Extensive experience advising on legal issues related to product, platform, and IP in a tech-forward environment

Working knowledge of legal topics related to AI/ML, including data rights, generative content, and model transparency

Comfort navigating ambiguity and triaging across IP, commercial, regulatory, and competition concerns

A proactive, business-minded approach that simplifies complexity and builds trust

Clear, concise communication and strong personal accountability

A collaborative mindset and high-context communication style that can influence both up and across

The expected base pay range for this role is $140,000 - $190,000.
Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and skills. We are committed to pay equity and regularly review compensation practices in line with the market and our compensation philosophy.
