Job Description:
The Senior Account Manager plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth and building strong, long-term relationships with one or more of the company’s largest key accounts. This role requires a deep understanding of customer needs, the ability to develop and manage highly critical account relationships and a proven track record of achieving sales targets. Requires <25% of remit linked to Global or Major Sub-Region coordination.
Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with one or more large key accounts, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their business objectives and work closely with Technical Services & Category Development to develop tailored solutions that align with customer needs.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their professional development and contributing to the overall success of the Sales & Account Management team.
- Lead the negotiations and closing of complex deals for large accounts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements and profitability are achieved.
- In coordination with Sales Operations, manage contract details to ensure accurate contract and invoice execution.
- Leverage sales data to identify trends, market / competitor activities, opportunities and areas for improvement, providing valuable insights to leadership to inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop sales plans and targets for the assigned portfolio, providing input into sales forecasting and budgeting processes to ensure accurate projections and efficient resource allocation.
- Responsible to coordinate Senior Stakeholder engagements between company and customer, focussed on relationship cultivation, and pipeline development.
- Collaborate effectively with Sales Operations, Planning, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and high customer satisfaction.
- Champion sales enablement tools and methodologies
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Advanced communication skills to convey highly complicated and sometimes commercially sensitive information with a diverse audience.
- Highly proficient in building and understanding complex financial deals, overall category / account financial profile, and effectively prioritizing opportunities that will drive critical business growth.
- Advanced understanding of the policies, objectives, operations and related activities within a Sales & Account Management Sub-Function or Sub-Region. Expert knowledge in the end-to-end sales process and broad knowledge of several related disciplines.
- Leverage knowledge to provide input and execute short-to-mid-term (1-3 years) strategies for a key account.
- Advanced communication skills to persuade and influence assigned key accounts. The role needs to adapt styles, interpret and explain information to different audiences from inside and outside the organisation who are not familiar with the subject matter.
- Oversees the resolution of complex or unusual situations, utilising original thought or unique approaches and sophisticated analytical techniques to guide the development of the end-to-end sales process.
- Demonstrated track record of designing and implementing customer-tailored solutions by working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in building and understanding complex financial deals, overall category / account financial profile, and effectively prioritizing opportunities that will drive critical business growth.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating and securing high-value deals with senior external stakeholders, showcasing strong persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Ability to quickly build rapport and cultivate new/existing partnerships.
- Travel required of up to 50% to support role requirements.
Tate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency.
When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.
The pay range for this position is: $89,000 - $130,000.
