The Role at a Glance
We are excited to bring on a Retirement Consultant within our Retirement Plan Services (RPS) division to join the Eastern region team in the Greater Washington DC Area. In this role, you will deliver retirement planning, education, and world class service to complex retirement plan sponsors and participants. This includes growing plan participation, increasing average deferral rates, asset gathering, and servicing of employees. You will play a vital role in the growth, retention, and overall satisfaction of clients that you are tasked with servicing. Our goal is enabling our clients to achieve the retirement they envision.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct in-person and/or virtual meetings with Plan Sponsor/Participants to achieve assigned goals and metrics
- Meet or exceed established goals by increasing retirement plan participation, deferral rates, and average account balance leading to better participant outcomes and increased revenue & market share with assigned Plan Sponsor/Participant book of business
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of existing/targeted Plan Sponsor/Participants including targeted market segments, how they operate, and/or value proposition
- Support Relationship Management with retention efforts and look for opportunities to promote other Lincoln services and cross partner with appropriate internal stakeholders
- You will support regional RC Directors by taking on additional responsibilities to support regional objectives and RPS goals
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
- 1 - 3+ Years’ experience in Retirement Plans that aligns with the specific responsibilities
- Must live in the Greater Washington DC area and be able to travel frequently in and around the area
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
- FINRA SIE, S6, and S63 within 90 days of hire (pre-registration preferred)
- Life & Health within 90 days of hire (pre-licensed preferred)
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in Group Benefits
- College of Financial Planning or comparable certification(s) or designations
- Prior system experience with: Excel, Salesforce, and Teams

The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
