Job Description:
Position: Resident Advisor
Type: Hourly, Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $20-$22 per hour
This is a LIVE-IN position that lives at our sober living home. Room and Board is freely included.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Resident Compliance: Monitor resident adherence to house rules as outlined in the SLE Resident Agreement. Promptly report all violations to the Program Manager. (2 hours/week and as needed)
- Support Program Engagement: Encourage and facilitate resident participation in scheduled outpatient programming, house meetings, and community gatherings. (2 hours/week)
- Manage Resident Discharges: Conduct discharges for residents completing their stay or for cause, including rule violations or relapse, in accordance with the SLE Resident Agreement. (0.5 hours per resident, as needed)
- Monitor Attendance Logs: Review and ensure accuracy of client sign-in/out records to verify compliance with attendance requirements for outpatient and AA/NA meetings. (1 hour/week)
- Administer Drug and Alcohol Screenings: Perform breathalyser tests and random urinalysis drug screenings per the guidelines in the SLE Resident Agreement. (2 hours/week)
- Conduct New Resident Orientations: Welcome new residents by reviewing house rules and agreements, collecting emergency contact details, and providing a home and safety tour. (1 hour per new resident, as needed)
- Prepare Bedrooms for New Arrivals: Set up rooms for incoming residents, ensuring cleanliness and availability of fresh linens and storage space. (0.5 hours per new resident/week, as needed)
- Maintain Household Inventory: Track and manage supplies such as cleaning products, kitchen utensils, furnishings, and house keys. (1 hour/week)
- Oversee Property Integrity: Help monitor the property to prevent damage or theft. (1 hour/week)
- Collaborate with Management: Attend regular meetings with management to review and discuss operational matters. (1 hour/week)
- Participate in Training: Attend required trainings related to health and safety, peer mentoring, and recovery residence best practices. (As needed)
- Conduct Room Inspections: Perform scheduled or suspicion-based room checks to ensure a safe and substance-free environment. (As needed)
- Provide Resident Resources: Offer referrals, letters, and other relevant information to residents when appropriate, maintaining full HIPAA compliance. (As needed)
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain knowledge of and adhere to relevant State and County regulations, including Title 22, Title 9, the SAPC DMC Provider Manual, and CCAPP Recovery Residence Standards. (Ongoing and as needed)
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma / GED or bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Additional:
- Valid CA Driver's License (required)
- Current Health Screen / Physical (required)
- TB Test Clearance (required)
- Current CPR/First Aid certificate (required)

Please Note: RA must have at least 1 year sobriety, and actively working their own recovery program. No children permitted in SLE.
