Job Description:

The future is bright for the Porch Group, and we’d love for you to be a part of it as our Reinsurance Senior Accountant.

We are seeking an experienced Reinsurance Senior Accountant. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with advanced technical and analytical expertise, deep industry knowledge, and a passion for driving process improvements.

What You Will Do As A Reinsurance Senior Accountant

  • Prepares journal entries for reinsurance related assigned areas, utilizes analysis and quick balancing checks to ensure accuracy and completeness in bookings needed in fast-paced monthly close
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned areas within and researches and resolves variances on a timely basis
  • Responsible for reinsurance billings, payments and related journal entries on a timely (weekly) basis with various brokers
  • Assists in the design and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures, implement automation of accounting processes, and improve internal control design
  • Assist in preparation/research for 10Q/10K schedules for parent company gaap reporting and Schedule F and other supplemental schedules for insurance companies’ statutory statements
  • Assists in preparation of analytics and other support schedules to validate actuals against prior periods and forecasts
  • Provides support to manager in completing audit requests
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring As A Reinsurance Senior Accountant

  • 5+ years of increasing responsibility in accounting in a corporate environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, CPA preferred.
  • Reinsurance experience required
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Netsuite General Ledger experience preferred
  • Alteryx experience a plus
  • Organized and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Willingness to take on challenges and think constructively to solve problems
  • Must be a clear communicator and a team player.

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member 

Pay Range* $67,500.00 - $90,000.00: annually
