This position is responsible for work that requires individuals to operate between multiple divisions of the Town's Recreation Department including the Recreation Center, Fitness Center, and Tennis Centers. Each of these divisions provides a service to our unique, high-end patrons who expect the best in service, facility upkeep, and hospitality. Individuals in this position will be part of a team comprised of driven, responsible, and compassionate people dedicated to customer service. They may assist with program and facility supervision, collect fees, operate a computer and other office equipment, and may perform a variety of maintenance duties. This position may also assist with specialized youth and adult programs, including seasonal sports, special events, and room set-up.

Essential Functions

• Checks in participants/customers and collects fees with the use of a computerized POS system. Balances the cash register at the end of the day, reconciling monies collected and completes bank deposits in accordance with Department cash handling procedures.
• Takes registration/payment for programs, fitness center use, lessons, clinics, and court bookings.
• Collects all payments and necessary forms for facility rentals.
• Responsible for daily communication of events, programs, weather, and facility conditions to the general public in regard to operations as well as other recreation programs and activities.
• Assists with program and facility supervision and enforces Department rules and regulations in a courteous and professional manner.
• Administers first aid in the event of minor injuries and notifies emergency personnel when necessary.
• Assists with upkeep of indoor and outdoor facilities with the use of a variety of maintenance equipment and hand tools.
• Performs a variety of custodial duties and maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Sets up tables, chairs, and related equipment for programs and classes.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
• Must be able to successfully pass a credit check.
• Experience within the Recreation Field is preferred.

• Must have strong customer service skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants and other employees.
• Must have good independent judgement as employees may on occasion be working alone.
