Job Description:
The Radiology Assistant / Transporter, at St. Charles Health System, provides transportation of patients to and from the Radiology Services Department, as requested with careful consideration for the patient’s experience and condition. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.
Essential functions include accurate patient verification and transport, assisting patients in and out of bed, reporting unusual occurrences to clinical staff, and maintaining the safety and cleanliness of transport equipment. The role also involves supporting patients and families, assisting with clerical duties, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Education required is a high school diploma or GED; preferred is Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire. Six months of hospital patient transport experience and customer service experience are preferred.
