Job Description:
Join AIR as a Project Specialist and use your experience and knowledge to help us deliver on our mission: to generate and use rigorous evidence that contributes to a better, more equitable world for all. The Project Specialist will be responsible for assessing, planning, and executing tasks at the direction of the Project Director or Task Leader. This position will support the management and monitoring of data collection, product development, resource allocation, and schedule of deliverables for a portfolio of projects.
This position will support the FEWS NET Learning and Data Hub, a critical component of the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) project. FEWS NET is a leading provider of early warning and analysis on acute food insecurity, supporting evidence-based decision-making to mitigate humanitarian crises globally.
This position has the flexibility to work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of AIR’s U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.

Responsibilities:
- Work with the Project Director or Task Leaders to execute changes and/or updates to the project tasks.
- Develop and maintain standard templates, processes, and workflows, all elements of which shall be consistent with AIR’s best practices and contract requirements.
- Provide support in project planning and implementation by managing, monitoring, and tracking project tasks using standard processes and workflows.
- Delegate work to staff and ensure tasks are completed on time Provide administrative support related to the overall project management.
- Forecast and analyze project management related data and synthesize those data into reports and spreadsheets based on program needs or program deliverables.
- Track project benchmarks and make recommendations for change.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to public policy, economics, education, psychology, political science, or communications with a minimum of 6 years of experience in in project management, data analysis, and staffing processes or advanced degree (MBA, MPA) with a minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, data analysis, and staffing processes.
- PMP Certification a plus but not required.

Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
