Job Purpose
The Professional Services Consulting Manager will lead a team of Consultants and Solutions Architects to deliver exceptional professional services to our clients within a specific region (North America, EMEA). Reporting to the Senior Director of Professional Services Consulting, this role will be responsible for managing client engagements, developing team members, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services while maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise, consulting acumen, and people management skills to drive positive customer outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Consultants and Solutions Architects with diverse skill sets
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on positive customer outcomes, technical and product expertise, and continuous improvement
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support career growth for team members
- Identify training needs and implement development plans to enhance team capabilities
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across the consulting organization
- Collaborate with PS and cross-functional leadership to innovate and optimize team’s approach and performance
Client Engagement & Delivery
- Oversee multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring high quality experiences and positive outcomes
- Apply consulting and technical frameworks, methodologies, and best practices consistently across projects
- Serve as an escalation point for client issues and create resolution paths when necessary
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders
- Ensure deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and align with defined scope and timelines
Technical & Consultative Leadership
- Demonstrate expertise in our products and services to guide both clients and team members
- Model a proactive approach to all professional services engagements to ensure we are taking ownership of customer experiences
- Apply a consultative mindset to understand client needs and translate them into effective solutions
- Provide guidance on complex technical challenges and solution design considerations
- Validate technical approaches and solutions proposed by team members
- Stay current with emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices
Operational Management
- In partnership with PS delivery, manage resource allocation and utilization within your team to optimize efficiency and profitability
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure profitability and client satisfaction
- Adopt and operationalize effective systems and processes for project management and knowledge sharing with the consulting team
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks within your team proactively
Business Growth & Development
- Support pre-sales activities by participating in client calls, scoping sessions, and proposal development where needed and in collaboration with PS pre-sales
- Identify opportunities for additional services within existing client accounts and work to develop these opportunities
- Contribute to the development of new service offerings and improvements to existing offerings
- Work with sales teams to ensure smooth handoff from sales to delivery
Requirements
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in professional services, consulting, or technical implementation roles
- 2+ years of team management experience
- History of successful client engagement management
- Experience with SaaS or software implementation projects
- Background in applying structured methodologies for service delivery
