Job Description:
Location: Remote
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical coding professional to join our team as a Coding Educator. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our client by providing education, conducting focused audits, and leading informative presentations designed to enhance the coding knowledge and accuracy of coding staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and informative coding education and training to clients’ coding staff.
- Conduct focused audits to ensure compliance, accuracy, and adherence to current coding standards and guidelines.
- Develop and present customized coding presentations and workshops for coders.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance on Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding and documentation requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Pulmonary, Cardiology, and Cardiothoracic coding, staying up to date with evolving guidelines and payer requirements.
- Interpret and apply official coding guidelines, payer policies, and Medicare teaching physician rules accurately.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of recent profee coding experience, with a strong emphasis on Pulmonary, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic, and E/M coding.
- 3 years’ experience conducting coding education, audits, and presentations is required.
- Advanced knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and official coding guidelines.
- AAPC or AHIMA Certification(s) CPC or CCS-P required.
- Strong understanding of Medicare teaching guidelines and documentation requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor educational content to various audiences.
- Comfortable presenting to groups virtually.
- U.S. Based required
