Position Description

As a Product Sales Specialist your role will be to build the Ferris Commercial Products brand awareness by demonstrating Ferris Commercial Zero Turn Mowers, Walk Behind Mower, Stand On Mowers and Spreader Spraying equipment to Landscapers, Municipalities, School Districts and Parks & Recreation Departments in assigned area. You will also support local Ferris Power Equipment dealers and internal Ferris team members.

This position is remote and must be based in territory - which includes: Georgia, Alabama, Florida Panhandle, South Carolina, Tennessee, Western North Carolina and South Carolina. *Ideal candidates will be based in Atlanta, GA.*

You will do this by:
  1. Quickly becoming a Ferris product subject matter expert, being proficient in explaining features and benefits of Ferris products and performing demonstrations to the end users.

  2. Generating leads through various sites including Instagram & Facebook generating interest with landscapers and developing conversations that result in a demonstration.

  3. Driving a pickup truck and landscape trailer with Ferris equipment to the locations that the end user agrees to and let the customer experience the Ferris product first hand by using it on familiar turf.

  4. Working directly with our Ferris dealers and develop a relationship with them to gain territory knowledge and competitive industry insights. Assisting your Ferris dealers with sales & open house events.

  5. Participating in various external events, i.e trade shows and fairs to support the Ferris brand and products.

  6. Conducting training at the Ferris dealerships teaching new employees features & benefits of the Ferris products as well as company programs, process and procedures.

  7. Analyzing market data to pinpoint opportunities in assigned territory to maximize prospecting efforts and develop strategies on how Ferris performs against the competition.

  8. Attending the National Sales Meeting in Milwaukee at the Briggs & Stratton Headquarters annually to meet and develop relationships with key stakeholders.

  9. Attending regional meetings in various company locations when required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field OR equivalent education and experience

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Ability to become DOT certified upon hire

  • Able to safely load, secure, and operate a variety of company trailers on a regular basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in landscaping industry

  • Social media savvy

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse group of people.

  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work independently and possess solid organizational skills
