Job Description:
We are seeking a Product Owner to join the Foundation in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. The Foundation for California Community Colleges is on a mission to double its impact in the next 10 years. We are a group of relentless optimists and innovators in education, working collaboratively with public and private partners to help improve the student experience and expand pathways to economic and social mobility in communities across California.
The Product Owner drives project and product success within a portfolio of technology solutions supporting FoundationCCC internal programs, Collaborative Impact Partners, and the CCC Chancellor’s Office. These initiatives focus on systemic change within California Community Colleges and impacted communities through cross-departmental collaboration.
The Product Owner ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role mentors members of the Product Success team and contributes to strategic initiatives that advance FoundationCCC’s mission.
The Product Owner oversees the Centralized Clinical Placement System (CCPS) and MyCCPS (a companion mobile application). These two critical platforms streamline clinical placements for students across California and the nation. CCPS and MyCCPS align academic institutions and healthcare providers in offering efficient and equitable clinical training experiences and support healthcare workforce development efforts.
- Lead product development from concept to release using agile methodologies.
- Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Align CCPS and MyCCPS with workforce initiatives and institutional needs.
- Define features, enhancements, and prioritize product roadmaps.
- Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams.
- Implement strategies to assure quality and collect user feedback.
- Develop product specifications, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design, marketing, and adoption strategies.
Attributes for Success
- Relevant BA/BS, equivalent work experience, or a combination of both.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent preferred.
- Background in healthcare workforce development, EdTech, or SaaS platforms.
- 5+ years in product management, technical project management, or SaaS operations working across the product development lifecycle.
- Experience with software development, UX/UI, and data analytics.
- Strong understanding of database management, SQL, and data modeling concepts.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Experience utilizing tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create user-friendly data representations and reporting prototypes.
- Experience in contract management, funding alignment, and external reporting.
- Proficiency in budget planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of compliance, reporting, and financial restrictions for grant-funded products.
- Skilled in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and backlog management.
- Proficiency in Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) and performance tracking systems.
