Job Description:
Position: Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Reports to: Medical Director (as assigned)
Summary: Urgent Care Physicians of New Jersey LLC provides immediate medical care to those in need throughout the Atlantic Health Urgent Care Network. We are seeking Family Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for our urgent care centers in the Middlesex County area. This covers our Edison site specifically and all other sites in the Middlesex region. Prior urgent care or walk-in center experience is required. As a rapidly growing company, there are advancement and professional development opportunities. Compensation commensurate with experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations and the counseling of patients towards compliance with treatment
• Order diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests, and interpret results accordingly
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as incision and drainage, splinting, suturing, infection management and wound care
• Prescribe pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
• Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and, moreover, deliver continuity of care (including referral of patients to specialists and to other relevant patient care components, as medically necessary and appropriate)
• Regularly communicate with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information
• Willing to support practice operations, such as triaging patients, when necessary
• Willing to travel to other sites when necessary
Requirements
• License (unrestricted and in good standing) in the State of New Jersey
• Controlled dangerous substance registration with the State of New Jersey
• Registration with the Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice
• DOT certified within first 6 months of employment
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent team skills
