People Operations Specialist

What You Will Do:
- Own Beam’s onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for employees.
- Administer leave programs, including FMLA, LOA, and ADA, ensuring compliance and employee support.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for HRIS systems (Rippling, Quantum Workplace, Lever, and Checkr), managing configuration, data entry, maintenance, reporting, and conducting regular audits for data integrity.
- Support benefits administration, including open enrollment, QLEs, eligibility determinations, communications, system updates, audits, and assisting employees with questions
- Act as the primary liaison with Finance on payroll changes and respond to employee payroll-related inquiries.
- Maintain and update the People Team’s Confluence page, job description database, and job grade data.
- Handle employment verifications and I-9 verification.
- Serve as the first point of contact for general employee inquiries regarding benefits and policies via a shared inbox.
- Provide talent acquisition support, including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial interview screens as needed.
- Support and promote Beam’s culture through engagement initiatives and employee experience programs.
- Assist with special projects and contribute to ongoing People Team and department initiatives.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve People Operations processes and policies while maintaining a high standard of excellence.
What Skills Will Help You Be Successful:
- 5-7 years of human resources generalist experience
- A Bachelor's Degree and HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) are preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced or start-up environment required
- Insurance industry experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and administration, specifically FMLA and ADA
- Experience working with a broker for benefits administration
- Experience working with and configuring HRIS systems; Rippling experience preferred
- Impeccable organization and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to build company presentations and draft company-wide communications
- Strong data skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to change in a rapidly growing start-up
