Part Time Curatorial Assistant
Overview
The Curatorial Assistant works with the Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs on various administrative and collections based projects. This is a five month assignment.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

INSTITUTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Museum’s mission, values, vision, and core commitment to the visitor experience, community engagement, and institutional relevancy for the future
- Contribute to and support the OMCA strategic plan, annual priorities, and institutional initiatives such as diversity advancement
- Contribute to a positive organizational culture based on mutual respect, a spirit of collegiality, cooperation, and openness to many perspectives
- Participate in a culture of ongoing learning, collaboration, innovation, creativity, and community engagement
- All positions will have core functional responsibilities, cross functional team activation and learning and development as a core function of each role.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support production of documents outlining department processes and procedures
- Support production of curatorial department manual
- Organize materials for and create forms and documents for intranet pages
- Organize department historic digital and paper files and documents
- Organize curatorial and cross-departmental meeting calendar, maintain agendas and notes files
- Support Art Collection research for Bloomberg Connects platform
- Assist in developing framework for Artist Commission Fees
- Provide administrative support as needed for current department book projects
- Provide curatorial research support as needed on collection
- Provide other administrative support as needed
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
- Ability to display and encourage visitor and internal customer service, take and share responsibility and treat others with respect
- 1-3 years related experience
- Knowledge of art history or visual culture preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- English language proficiency in both spoken and written form
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
