Requirements:
Credentials: Bachelor’s degree, 2-4 years of experience in general human resources or onboarding
Experience: Experience with cultivating positive relationships with business partners and employees, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Experience with HRIS (ULTIPRO), ATS (Smart Recruiters), EXCEL, THERAP, and Payroll systems (KRONOS)
Job Description:
Join our team as an Onboarding Specialist and play a key role in creating a smooth and welcoming hiring experience. You'll support the administrative side of the hiring process—particularly for Direct Support Professionals—by coordinating hiring documents, conducting background checks, and ensuring all pre-employment requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with recruiters to provide a smooth, engaging hiring process for all candidates.
- Keep our Applicant Tracking System (SmartRecruiters) updated with accurate applicant statuses.
- Send background check packets to all candidates who receive offers.
- Stay in contact with new hires to make sure onboarding paperwork is completed on time and that they’re ready for orientation.
- Conduct all necessary pre-employment checks, including background and Motor vehicle records.
- Send out onboarding links and personalized welcome letters to each new hire.
- Distribute the weekly attendance roster for New Staff Orientation to the appropriate teams.
- Create and maintain personnel and licensing files, and provide local HR with access as needed.
- Initiate HR workflows once onboarding is complete.
- Stay informed of relevant state and federal employment laws and licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to foster a positive, team-oriented environment.
