Overview:
As an Observability Engineer at Tek Spikes, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the monitoring and observability systems of our applications and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include implementing metrics, logs, and traces to provide comprehensive insights into system performance and reliability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our systems remain scalable, efficient, and resilient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement observability solutions to ensure comprehensive monitoring of applications and services.
- Utilize tools and frameworks such as OpenTelemetry to instrument code and capture performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and alerting systems to proactively monitor system health and performance.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify bottlenecks and optimize application performance.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to system observability, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry-leading observability practices and tools to continuously enhance monitoring capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members on observability best practices.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in observability, monitoring, or related roles.
- Proficient in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their monitoring capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
