ROLE SUMMARY:

Inspired Online Schools, part of the Inspired Education group, is a group of online schools, including King’s InterHigh, the leading British Curriculum Online School with over 6,000 students globally. King's InterHigh has been at the forefront of online education, providing a complete online program via our state-of-the-art learning portal and offering an excellent education without borders. 

 

As a part of our mission to bring excellence in education to more students in the United States and globally, we are seeking dynamic and motivated teachers to join our team. Reporting to the US Head of Faculty, this role requires a flexible and adaptable individual who can quickly respond to the evolving needs of students and bring innovative technology integrations into their curriculum. Teachers should be skilled in building strong relationships with students and colleagues, delivering challenging and engaging lessons, and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

This role will be as a founding faculty member which presents many opportunities to shape and help build a new school. The ideal candidate will be excited to be an essential contributor to growing our school, and eager to develop strong connections with their colleagues, as well as founding families & students.
This teaching position offers the flexibility of remote work.   Proximity to the DC metro area is preferred to facilitate in-person collaboration with colleagues and school leaders, but it is not a requirement. This role will involve close partnership with our teaching team and may require occasional travel within the US.

Benefits of the role:

 

The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $65,000 USD per annum. We offer a comprehensive package that includes a variety of medical and dental plans, life insurance, 401(k) plan and a robust suite of personal well-being benefits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pedagogical Expertise: Design and deliver high-quality lessons that engage all learners, leveraging strong pedagogical knowledge and best practices.
• Flexibility & Adaptability: Quickly shift gears as needed, responding to the evolving needs of students and the curriculum.
• Technology Integration: Adopt and implement new software and tech platforms, learning quickly to ensure a smooth rollout for students.
• Relationship Building: Prioritize the development of strong relationships with students, fostering a sense of community within the virtual classroom.
• Differentiation: Differentiate instruction and adapt resources to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
• Assessment Program: Provide a continuous formative and summative assessment program to maintain a constant pulse on student learning, offering high-quality feedback that encourages ongoing revision and improvement of student work.
• Social Emotional Learning: Integrate social emotional learning curricula to support the holistic development of students and foster a positive classroom environment.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to a team-oriented environment and sharing best practices and resources.
• Community Engagement: help build a positive school community by participating in co-curricular experiences, virtual and in-person experiences like field trips and meet-ups.
• Student Support: hold an advisor role and serve a point person for your advisory students – stay connected with families and keep them updated on students’ academic and social wellbeing.
• Professional Development: Actively participate in coaching and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
• Innovation & Research: Stay informed about the latest educational research and trends, integrating innovative practices to make learning meaningful and authentic for students.
• Other Duties: participation in admissions events and communicate with prospective families.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Ability to teach English Language and Literature across middle and high school.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Experience working in public or independent school sector.
• Computer literacy with the ability to teach online using technology applications.
• Experience in online or blended learning environments is a plus.
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and best practices in education.
• A passion for innovation in education and a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
• Joy in working with students and building strong partnerships with families. 
• Passion for education and a commitment to the mission of Inspired Online Schools.
• Ability to travel within the US and abroad, while this position is based in the USA.
