Job Description:

Pittsburgh CLO is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation and promotion of the American musical theater art form, the furnishing of arts education and providing outreach and meaningful community service opportunities in Western Pennsylvania and throughout the United States. The Pittsburgh CLO, hailed as one of the nation’s premier regional theaters, is seeking a college aged student for our Merchandise & Lobby Experience Internship.

Approx. Hours per week: 30

Assist the Sales & Marketing team to bring the CLO Merchandise and Lobby experiences from vision to fruition. This internship offers hands-on experience in retail and experiential marketing within a dynamic performing arts organization. This position will work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to enhance patron engagement and revenue through lobby activations and merchandise sales.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assist the Marketing Coordinator with selection, ordering, and inventory management of show-related merchandise, coordination of set-up, display, and restocking of merchandise at show venues.
  • Assist the Marketing Coordinator with process of sales transactions and maintain accurate financial records and reporting per show.
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing & Development teams to create and implement engaging lobby activations that align with show themes (i.e. photo ops, interactive displays, contests, etc.)
  • Create and implement promotions for the merchandise and lobby experiences via social media, email campaigns and in-venue signage.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Meta as well as Canva.
  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 25lbs to assist with merchandise set-up and tear-down.
  • Evenings and weekends are required.
  • Candidates should have excellent communication skills, a positive outlook, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Driver’s license, access to a car are required.

Compensation and perks include pay at $7.25 per hour and tickets to each performance.
