- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Familiarity with the Problem Oriented Medical Record (SOAP) system essential.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
Responsibilities
Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Medical Records Clerk with YesCare at the Philadelphia Riverside Correctional Facility, 8151 State Road.
- Evening shift 3-11:30p; PT (16 hrs) with alternating weekends
- Ensures confidentiality of all medical records information, and completes forms for release of information; utilizes electronic medical record system eCW as applicable throughout the scope of duties and responsibilities
- Retrieve medical charts for all healthcare staff or clinicians as requested. File daily all in use medical records. Secure all active and inactive medical records.
- Assure that charts are counter-signed by Physician, check charts for completeness.
- Release information at the direction of the Medical Records Supervisor, Medical Director or Health Services Administrator.
- Answer the telephone, take messages and make telephone calls. Type letters, reports and memorandums.
- Maintain a roster or appointment book for all scheduled patient appointments both on and off-site.
- Order, receive and maintain office supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
