The applicant will perform surgical assistance and maintain a sterile environment in an outpatient surgery center. Candidates must have a high school diploma and preferred medical assisting certification.

Credentials: High School diploma or GED required., Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program preferred., Current medical assistant certification and CPR certification preferred.
Experience: 1 year of OR experience preferred.
Job Description:
Your Impactful Role
- Perform surgical scrub and gowning procedures according to standards.
- Prepare sterile trays, instruments, and supplies based on the procedure type.
- Assist in patient preparation and draping.
- Uphold aseptic technique at all times.
- Aid in dressing application and patient positioning.
- Decontaminate equipment, instruments, and supplies and maintain cleanliness.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and par levels of supplies and equipment.
- Open and close the operating room according to established procedures.
- Collaborate with the registered nurse in various areas, including pre-op, sterile processing, and PACU.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
- 1 year of OR experience preferred.
- Current medical assistant certification and CPR certification preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions: In this role, you'll experience the rigorous yet rewarding physical demands of the job. You can expect to stand, walk, talk, and hear during your shifts. There may be occasions when you're on your feet for extended periods, involving tasks such as pushing, pulling, or moving patients on stretchers. Your work environment may expose you to anesthetic gases, hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, sharps, and cleaning solutions. You'll need to move all extremities within the full range of motion and perform stooping and bending at 90 degrees. Regularly, you'll lift and move objects up to 20 pounds and possess specific vision abilities, including close vision.
