If you have a passion for Enterprise Cloud Technology and a knack for helping customers understand them; we want to talk to you! The Nutanix Manager, Systems Engineering' is a technical field position that leads a team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers. In this role, you will have leadership responsibility for the Enterprise Pre-Sales Systems Engineers within the North region and will act as a working manager. It is expected that you can perform many of the functions that a Nutanix Systems Engineer does, including running Proof of Concepts. You will report to the Director of Systems Engineering in the West and will act as the Systems Engineering resource for the Regional Sales Director.

Systems Engineering at NutanixOur Systems Engineering & Solution Sales organization is made up of 800+ customer-focused technical  sales  professionals  who  are  responsible  for  identifying  and  matching  technology opportunities with the customer’s business issues and objectives, as well as channel partner training and enablement. This team also acts in a consultative fashion and is looked to as an expert in their field by the Nutanix sales, customer success, business partners, and customers.

Your Role: 

1. Support field SE team in complex evaluations, troubleshooting, and challenging customer environments. 
2. Recruit and hire new Systems Engineers into the territory, and provide mentorship and training to them once onboard. 
3. Provide an escalation point for pre-sales and post-sales technical issues that arise in the territory. 
4. Build and maintain relationships with key customers in the territory. 
5. Act as a floating Systems Engineer and fill in for existing team members if there is a resource conflict or need for vacation coverage. 
6. Take ownership of ensuring channel enablement is ongoing. 
7. Foster channel partner relationships with their technical teams. 
8. Management responsibility for Systems Engineers in the territory including expenses, quarterly check-ins, escalation conversations, etc.  
9. Ability to travel about 30%  of the time within the region. 

What You'll Bring: 

1. You have 5+ years of experience as a Sr./Pre-Sales Systems Engineer. and 2-3 years of pre-sales management experience 
2. deep knowledge of the virtualization and storage markets as well as design capabilities. 
3. strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. 
4. humble leader with a bias for action. 
5. operate with a ‘whatever it takes' attitude and motivation to do whatever is necessary to assist in closing a deal. 
6. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $253,600 and $380,400/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.
