Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic, strong voice with ample broadcast experience to fill-in as host of Arizona’s Morning News on KTAR News 92.3 FM. The morning news program is a news-focused show that delivers breaking and urgent news, offers thoughtful analysis and compelling interviews with some of the state’s biggest newsmakers. Arizona’s Morning News is broadcast on 92.3FM and live streamed via audio and video on the KTAR News app and KTAR.com. This is an on-site role at our Phoenix, AZ studio.
Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.
- This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Phoenix site.
What You Will Do:
Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Perform live in-studio newscasts alongside a news co-host during the hours of 5 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.
- Present compelling, informative, personable and impactful newscasts with an emphasis on local and breaking news.
- Report news in a way that is constantly fresh, new, unique and exciting while maintaining the integrity of news standards.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet up to the minute/hourly/daily/weekly deadlines and be accurate and precise in writing news stories.
- Must have excellent writing skills to stack fresh and informative newscasts each half hour.
- Communicate closely with the morning news team (producer, editor, reporter and board operator) especially on execution of breaking news stories.
- Work effectively in a team environment and maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with the entire news team and management.
- You may be asked to fill in during other dayparts as news anchor.
- Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, mass communications or media preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of news anchor or reporter experience preferred.
- Sound news judgement with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including conversational, yet professional news delivery.
- Proficiency in editing audio using software like Audition or Newsboss Audio Editor expected.
- NewsBoss platform experience preferred.
- Multilingual skills preferred. Spanish language speaking and writing preferred.
- Strong desire to work at Arizona’s largest and most respected award-winning news radio station.

Physical Demands
- Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Compensation Range
$20.00 - $50.00 per hour
Hourly rate will be determined by an evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal and external benchmarks.
