Job Description:
Job Summary
- The Legal Intern will assist with projects within Ventra’s in-house corporate legal department, including (i) reviewing, drafting and logging contracts; (ii) reviewing, organizing and tracking various consents documents; (iii) performing general corporate maintenance and other compliance related activities; and (iv) conducting legal research regarding various legal healthcare and compliance related topics.
- The majority of services may be performed remotely, but some limited in-office time may also be required.
Essential Functions and Tasks
- Perform Legal Research
- Review and log both customer and vendor agreements
- Assist with drafting confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, and customer contracts
- Draft legal correspondence and reports
- Manage state filings and business licenses
- Assist with various legal and compliance related projects
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and currently a second or third year student pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree in an accredited law program
- Contract review/management, corporate legal or healthcare related experience preferred

- Well-organized with excellent attention to details
- Strong ethical standards
- Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies
- Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner
- Understand and comply with company policies and procedures
- Strong judgment, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong time management, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Proactive, responsive and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Westlaw
Compensation
- Base Compensation will be based on various factors unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
- This position is also eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus in accordance with company policies.
