The Interim Controller will manage the club’s accounting functions from November through February, working primarily remotely with some onsite check-ins. Applicants should have experience in accounting and financial reporting, particularly with month-end closings and tax preparations.
Job Description:
Interim Controller
Time period: November 24-February 28. Flexible transition/training period sometime in October-November. 15-20 hours/week.
Job Type: Remote, as needed. Would prefer 1x/week onsite for check-in.
- Bank reconciliations for November 2025, December 2025, and January 2026
- Run month end report for November 2025, December 2025, and January 2026
- Review monthly membership changes with Executive Admin
- Reconcile member dues, capital charges, assessments, initiation fees
- Post charges in system
- Facilitate month-end accounting close, posting journal entries
- Produce financial statements for November 2025, December 2025, and January 2026
- Prepare and file sales tax returns for Illinois & City of Highland Park for November 2025, December 2025, and January 2026
- Operating budget preparation
- First draft is targeted for completion before interim period begins
- Assist with making adjustments per GM, department heads
- General assistance as needed for accounting staff
