We are looking for a Technical Deskside Support II to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing and repairing (break-fix) desk-side computer related products and legacy systems which include hardware, software, networking and operating systems. Our ideal candidate will have experience supporting both Mac and PC users. This position requires 5 days in the office and will be a 1099 contract position for 3-month with possible extension. The hourly rate is $ 20 - $ 21/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing and repairing (break-fix) desk side computer related products and legacy systems which include hardware, software, networking and operating systems. Equipment support may include Enterprise Server, PC & laptop computers, storage sub-systems and drives, computer and telecommunications systems as well as networking.
- Provide call taking and site-specific support.
- Provide maintenance and support on legacy products.
- Install and maintain PCs and associated software, networks, servers and peripherals.
- Expertise in Mac and PC operating systems i.e. Microsoft/Linux/Unix, networking SW, anti-virus SW. and all tier one manufacturer server, PC and printer products, OEM network devices, and document processing products.
- Support network products from operational and maintenance perspectives.
- Performs installs, moves, adds and changes (IMACs) as required.
- Tests and certifies PCs, networks, servers and client approved applications.
- Follows-up on problems or escalation, takes responsibility for potential or desired follow-up.
- Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventative maintenance.
- Maintains a functional understanding of company service solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- 2 -3 years of experience as a Desktop or Deskside support.
- Experience with Mac and PC platforms and operating systems.
- Experience supporting VPN clients.
- Experience with MS 365 and its peripherals.
- Responsible for troubleshooting, installations and removals of programs, password resets, and access issues.
- Experience supporting MS Teams-rooms for conferencing is a plus.
