The Pool Bar Server will provide beverage and food service in a friendly and timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction. Candidates should have prior server experience and must obtain necessary certifications before starting.

Requirements:

Hard Skills: Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic brands, Memorization of all available drinks, Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 30 pounds, Ability to remain on feet throughout the shift, Ability to work all day in the sun

Credentials: High school diploma preferred, Prior server experience preferred, Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers certification prior to beginning work

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Pool Bar Server is responsible for the service of beverage and food in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Check and maintain proper set-up and cleanliness of service station before, during, and after shift
  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain all specials, promotions, and snacks
  • Take orders, reciting selection of all house and premium brands as requested, requires memorization of all available drinks
  • Inputs orders into POS system to inform bartender an order was made
  • Replenishes beverages as requested, frequently checking back with guest to inquire about satisfaction
  • Insure that all food is delivered to guests in a timely manner
  • Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Prior server experience preferred
  • Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers certification prior to beginning work

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must be reliable and responsible
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred
  •  
  • Must have knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic brands
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to transport large awkward trays weighing up to 30 pounds through a crowded area continuously throughout a shift
  • Ability to remain on feet throughout the shift
  • Ability to work all day in the sun
