Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 1st Grade Homeschool Teacher to provide a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young learners. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum that meets the educational needs of students while fostering a love for learning.

One Position Available:
Wednesday or Thursday during the 2025-2026 school year
The instructor guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects and has the ability to effectively communicate these objectives to students to enhance the education they are receiving at home. Students attend the program one day a week. The teacher is expected to maintain professional ethics and confidentiality; is open to learning from others and accepts constructive criticism; and is a positive role model for students (e.g., is consistent, fair, dependable, responsible, and respectful). The RMCA Home School Program staff work as a team. All staff will be assigned additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Classical/Core Knowledge/home school teaching experience preferred.
- Experience in teaching all elementary subjects.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Demonstrates understanding of home school families and their educational goals and philosophies.
- Excellent organizational and academic skills.
- Effective student/classroom management skills.
- Student centered; demonstrates success in working with students.

Job Functions
- Provides effective instructional strategies and activities for all students in the classroom.
- Incorporates effective writing techniques into instructional activities.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of appropriate classroom behavior.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides daily updates, progress reports and parent/teacher conferences as required.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, RMCA policy, and administrative regulation.
- Attends staff meetings and participates in other activities, such as standardized testing, professional development and field trips as determined by the Director.
