Summary:
The applicant will perform various histology techniques and maintain laboratory equipment in a part-time role. Required qualifications include HT or HTL ASCP certification and a Florida license.
Requirements:
Hard Skills: histology techniques, preparing tissue samples, laboratory equipment maintenance
Credentials: HT ASCP certification, Florida license
Experience: Minimum of 2 years current Histology experience (Preferred), Mohs Surgery experience is preferred but we will train the right candidate.
Job Description:
This is a part-time position, 3 days per week - Thursday, Friday, and Monday. We are looking for a positive and eager team player.
New, licensed grads are welcome!
Job Description
- Prepare tissue samples by fixing, staining, dying, trimming, and other methods.
- Identify and document technical issues, quality assurance, and procedural improvements.
- Use, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, and keep a clean, disinfected work space.
- Receive, log, and document patient specimens and accompanying forms.
Qualifications
- The person should be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a histotechnician or histotechnologist.
- Experience working in a lab is almost always a must, as this is a critical part of the job.
- For new grads with positive attitudes and eagerness to learn, we will gladly assist in training.
