Job Description:
The CAA Graduate Student Assistant offers support on the development, implementation, and support of peer-based academic support programs and services. The Graduate Assistant collaborates with Center for Academic Achievement staff to identify programming needs and to develop/implement proactive approaches and resources for student success. This role supports the peer-based services within the CAA including peer tutoring services, supplemental instruction, peer academic coaching, and the Writing Lab. This position is for Fall 2025 with the possibility of continuing into Spring 2026.
Job duties include but not limited to:
- Assists with coordinating, developing, and providing logistic support for a variety of student populations who utilize the CAA’s peer tutoring services.
- Supports day-to-day operations of peer tutoring programs and services.
- Assists with planning and coordinating events, seminars, presentations, and workshops that support tutoring services.
- Answers directional and informational questions, referring questions or issues to other College offices as appropriate.
- Assists with recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating OPS, and part-time student employees. Maintains work schedules, and student-facing service communications.
- Explains and enforces the policies, rules, and regulations of the department and University.
- Engages in professional development and training as appropriate and needed.
- Encourages students to use College-supported online learning assistance resources.
- Delivers presentations on CAA services including the Writing Lab at requested events, seminars, classes, and orientation programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled in the discipline or a closely related discipline. Enrollment in 9 credit hours for both master’s and doctoral students during fall and spring semesters, or 6 credit hours for summer semesters.
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Hourly rate: $17.00 per hour.
This position offers the option for a tuition waiver upon approval.
